Skeleton of John Glen Found DISAPPEARED FROM CEDUNA 18 MONTHS AGO Whilst cutting wood in the scrub about five miles from Ceduna, 200 yards off the Decree's Bay road, Mr. F. O. Skinner found the skeleton of a man which was later identified as that of John Glen, about 58, who had been missing since January, 1949. It is believed that the deceased man must have been wandering round and become exhausted. He was subject to black-outs. Mr. Glen was a native of Scotland and had no relatives in Australia. He was a returned soldier of World War I and was employed at Thevenard as a water side worker. The funeral was organised by the R.S.L., R.A.O.B. Lodge and waterside workers. Two members from each organisation acted as pallbearers. The funeral commenced at the R.S.L. club rooms. Members of the above organisations marched each side of the cortege to the cemetery. Rev. Hayman officiated. |
