Military Funeral.-The funeral of the late Private Perry Adamson Young, of the 16th reinforcements, 28th Battalion, Blackboy Hill, took place yesterday morning with military honours. The deceased who was 32 years of age, was the son of Mr. Thomas Young of Glen Boree, and a native of South Australia. He came to this State ten years ago, and at once started farming. Six years ago he purchased a farm at East Brookton, which he successfully worked until two months ago, when he answered the call of his country and enlisted for the front. He was very popular at East Brookton and took an active interest in all matters pertaining to the advancement of the district. The cortege, headed by a firing party supplied from the 18th reinforcements, 16th Battalion, in charge of Sergeant A. S. Evans, moved from Messrs. Bowra and O'Dea's private mortuary in Pier-street, and proceeded to the Methodist Cemetery, Karrakatta. where the remains were interred. The parade was under the command of Lieutenant A. Tiegs. The pall-bearers were Privates W. S. Price, A. G. Matthews. T. Armstrong. P. G. Tr -ter, A.J. Moore, and W. T. Saw. The chief mourners were Mr A. H. Young and Mr. J. O. Young (cousins) and Private J. T. Short. Army Chaplain Rev. J. A. Jacobs conducted the funeral ceremony, after which three volleys were fired and the "Last Post" sounded by Bugler C. D. Roberts. Among the wreaths placed on the grave was a handsome domed wreath from the deceased's comrades in the 16th reinforcements. The funeral arrangements were in the hands of Messrs. Bowra and O'Dea.
